The first time I looked in the mirror and saw gray hairs, my heart literally jumped. It was such a shock to face the reality that I was getting older. So I covered it up with a box from the store.
I have since gotten older and, I hope, a little wiser and now I leave the covering-up to the professionals at my favorite salon who know what they are doing. The truth is, I have no idea of the real color of my hair anymore, and to be honest, I have no desire to find out.
Last night, as I read this week's homework from Beth Moore's book So Long Insecurity, this verse hit home with me and wrapped itself around my heart.
"Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you. I will carry you and save you." Isaiah 46:4 NCV
Here's to aging gracefully and to resting and trusting in His care!
OH MY!! I thought my hair was just getting naturally highlighted, but now when I look it is GRAY!! I love this Scripture!! He is so amazingly faithful!! This Scripture is definitely going up in my bathroom next to the mirror!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great scripture. A good reminder of who is in control and for us to let go and let God do his work. :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lord ... even for gray hair. Thank you
