"...I have never spoken on My own authority or of My own accord or as self-appointed, but the Father Who sent Me has Himself given Me orders [concerning] what to say and what to tell. "
What would it be like to really live like He lived?
What if I didn't say anything on my own authority, or of my own accord?
What if every word was first submitted to the Father?
What if I stopped, and instead of beginning so many sentences with the words,
"I think..." or "In my opinion...", I asked Him, "What do You think,God? What is Your opinion?"
What if self took a back seat, and I realized that people aren't clamoring to hear me,
but desperately need to hear Him?
What if, in this particular way, I really decreased, and He increased?
What if I learned to just be quiet, to rest, to listen more than I speak,
to really trust Him that if something needs to be said, He will tell me what to say,
and if not, it's ok to just say nothing?
He alone has the words of eternal life, (John 6:68).
What would it be like to live with thoughts, words and deeds totally submitted to Him first?
Wouldn't the mind and heart then be a place of peace?
Wouldn't the inward me be still, and the outward me experience less strife and conflict?
What if my motto was "He must be heard!" instead of "I must be heard!"
Wouldn't all of this be a huge step toward Jesus Christ being glorified
and becoming more glorious through and in me? (2 Thessalonians 1:12)
Grace and peace in Him,
