Colors…

A friend’s son just took some tests that revealed he’s color blind.

I don’t really understand it all, but can’t imagine not being able to differentiate color in all it’s endless variations.

And I can’t help but think of

The Creator of color…

pumpkin orange, grass green, the indescribable blue of a cloudless sky.

In the Autumn, He shows it all off.

Colors everywhere.

Just because He thinks it’s beautiful.

And it is.

Oldest granddaughter is adopted, mixed race, brown skinned.

She asks why God made her brown.

Her mama says, “Because He thought it was beautiful.”

It’s true

and she is.

And I can’t help but think of

The Creator of color…

From the fairest ivory to the darkest black and all the shades in between.

People of every hue.

Just because He thought it was beautiful.

And it is.

And I can’t help but think of

That day when people

from every nation

every tribe

every language

every tongue

will stand before His throne

in a great rainbow of praise and adoration and worship*.

Just because He thought it was beautiful.

And it is.

And He is.

*(Revelation 7:9)

Still following,

Elizabeth

  3. Oh, Elizabeth, this is so beautiful and colorful.........and that granddaughter is lovely beyond description. All races, all tribes, all nations, hard to fathom but yes, a rainbow surrounding His throne--your imperfect prose once again does not fit the category and you should be disqualified, ahem, because it is PERFECT.

Think I'll be out soon for that Starbucks,
    Dianne

  5. Jesus loves the little children - all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white - all are precious in His sight. Because He thinks we're beautiful - and we are. Oh, I can't wait for the day we're all in His presence - every tribe and nation, singing His praises!

  16. As an adoptive mom of children of different races, I loved, loved this. And as a New Englander loving the beauty of the color all around me, all I can say is, Amen! Sometimes it's overwhelming thinking about the things God created simply because it gave Him pleasure to do so. Great post.
