Hope-full wreath, banner, and other décor…

“Return to the stronghold,
      You prisoners of hope.
      Even today I declare
That I will restore double to you.”

 Zechariah 9:12 NKJ

To be held captive by HOPE, what a thought!

So much better than being held captive by hopelessness, despair, and depression, don’t you think?

My theme word for 2011 is HOPE.

Reminders to HOPE are found throughout my house.

Stenciled on a scrap of wood, then gently sanded to distress the lettering.

The banner was made by cutting triangles from Dollar Tree gift wrap using scrapbooking scissors.

The triangles wanted to curl up, but ironing them with the iron on low did the trick.

The lettering was printed on cardstock, cut out, and glued on with glue stick.

Another little pressing with the iron made the letters lay down smooth.

A hole punch was used in each top corner of the triangles,

then stick on hole reinforcements were put on the back side so the holes wouldn’t tear.

The triangles were then strung on twine, then some white satin ribbon “bows” were added.

Hoping your day is HOPE-filled!

  1. Love your word! And the way your decorating reminds you to hope! While looking at your photos a song was going through my mind. And heart. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness!

  6. I think I will adopt "hope" as my word of the year, too. We need it so much right now. Each day we begin again hoping for a phone call. They rarely come and so far, none of them has been the one we needed.

My memory verse from a few weeks ago was...

    Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:24

    I'm trying!!!
