One of the most common tools the enemy uses against us is to cause us to doubt God’s love for us. He uses the negative circumstances of our life and says, “If God really loved you why did He allow this?” Becoming unshakeably confident in God’s love for you, no matter what your circumstances, defuses this favorite weapon of the enemy and helps prevent you from being offended at God when you go through tough times. Find a handful of favorite verses about God’s love for you and take some time to meditate on one of them everyday until the truth of His love for you becomes ingrained in your mind and heart. Repeat it back to Him aloud like this, “God, Your love for me is unfailing. It NEVER FAILS, no matter what I’m going through or how I feel.” I’m going to practice what I’m preaching and do this myself…will you join me?
Still following,
Elizabeth
So true. My favorite verse is Hebrews 13:5 (Amplified Bible) the end of the verse. "He (God) Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. (I will) not, (I will) not, (I will) not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax My hold on you)! (Assuredly not!) or the next favorite verse is in Ephesian 2:4 (Amplified) But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in or to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us.
ReplyDeleteThese two scriptures for me sum up God's love for me.
Amen dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm studying John 11 this week, and it's amazing how many times the comment is made that Jesus loved Lazarus and Mary and Martha.
As Oswald Chamber said, "Never let tribulation separate you from the fact that God LOVES you."
beautiful. makes me think of what Jesus tells john (via john's disciples) when the latter languishes in prison: 'and blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.'
ReplyDeleteyes.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder. This past month has brought so many hardships and heartaches in my life. The only way I've made it through is to meditate on verses. Mine, specifically for this past few weeks has been 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 "'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'... For when I am weak, then I am strong".
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, this is so well said!!! Amen to God's unfailing love! And your photo is absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeletevery beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteMaking scripture personal, using my own name, makes it mine. Easier to claim His promises in the hard times. blessings on you Elizabeth!
