We will be celebrating Easter in Ghana, Africa this year!
I love Easter!
I love celebrating Resurrection Sunday with our church family
and I love having family and friends over afterwards for a big Easter dinner.
{Here’s the link to see last year’s Easter table.}
Instead, this year we will be celebrating in a Ghanaian village, ministering in a church.
I’m kind of wondering what will be on the Easter menu there?
I don’t think I’ll be in the mood to put a bunch of decorations away when we return home,
so I went for something quick and easy and rather rustic on my mantel.
A bit of old zinc, my chippy old window, some colored eggs, a few pussy willows, and I called it good.
Years ago I blew out and colored these Easter eggs.
{Here’s an article I found on how to blow out an egg.}
I think it appropriate that a row of eggs is nested in a zinc chicken feeder.
Here are a couple of other quick and simple spring touches in my home.
This old rack hangs in my stair landing above an antique trunk.
Some cheery touches of yellow flowers here and there just say spring to me.
Well, it’s almost Friday!
HAPPY, HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE and HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND!
Still following,
Elizabeth
I adore your Easter mantle. Go with God, my friend. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteI love everything on the mantel, and my favorite part of all is the way you used the eggs. I think that's fabulous!

ReplyDeleteVery sweet mantel! Now...hold in the world have you kept those eggs all these years without them breaking??
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, What delightful touches of spring around your home. My eye is especially drawn to your old window on the mantel because I love using architectural pieces in my decor. Trust you have a wonderful Easter celebration in Ghana.

Hi Elizabeth, I don't think you'll care what's on the menu. If the Church in Ghana is anything like the Church in Malawi, Africa, where our fellowship has ministered, it should be a time of great joy and lots and lots of singing.
ReplyDeleteBe blessed!
Marilyn, I usually go to people's blogs to reply, but hope you see this since you don't have a blog. I know God is going to bless us more than we bless the Ghanaians on this trip...your prayers are much appreciated.
DeleteI love your creativeness but a part of me looks at it and wonders: Where on earth did she come from? If it weren't for your looks, I'd be pretty sure there was a mix-up at the hospital. At least I am now inspired me to get out my fake pussy willows and daffodils. Check out my FB page and I'll try to repost an awesome Easter craft from one of my friends.
