I’ll post my Joy Dare gratitude list with Ann’s prompts as usual today,
but I find myself missing writing down so many other thanks worthy things,
and yet many of them I’ve captured via my Iphone.
like the white blossoms in the old mason jar in the photo above…
or the way these leopard shoes are my three year old granddaughter’s favorites
and how she inevitably puts them on the wrong feet…
or this photo that my daughter texted me of youngest granddaughter right after her bath,
oh that hair!…
and the sky at blue hour driving home from the church one night last week…
or what about my new glasses that my youngest daughter says “look hipster”,
(hopefully that’s not a code word for dorky)…
a warm, sunny day, enjoying time outside with my granddaughter…
and enjoying ice cream cones together too…
So many blessings, so much to give thanks for.

I’ve taken the Joy Dare.
I’m counting one thousand thanks in one year.
I hunt for thanksgiving using the prompts Ann gives us each month.
If you are interested in joining in, click the link above or at the bottom of this post.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my little black journal…

Just loved your blog again. Love your grandchildren....aren't they precious? I try to find things to be grateful for everyday.... It's a good thing. Joan
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by again! Yes, gratitude has changed my life!
DeleteI always enjoy your lists, but this week was a particular favorite because of the pictures included at the beginning. I began to smile at the little shoes on the wrong feet and kept right on smiling through bath hair and hipster dorky glasses (which are definitely hipster and not a big dorky. They really flatter!)
ReplyDeleteThose shoes on the wrong feet make me smile... my littlest girl loves sparkle and glitz but refuses to put those shiny shoes on the right feet. I need to take a picture of it- thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughters are beautiful! I do love the picture of the little one after the bath...that hair-do makes me smile. I like the glasses (but if you ask my kids, I'm probably a dork, so...).
ReplyDeleteYour list really made me chuckle! I'm a new grandmother so I am totally getting all the grandma things now. I love getting those silly pictures from my daughter on my iPhone, too. And, I have a twenty-five year old who gives me tips on dressing and tells me things like yours did. I'm with you though .... couldn't 'hipster' also mean, "Mom, you look as old as all those people who were once hippies!' LOL Great list, sister!
ReplyDeleteLove the darling feet in the wrong adorable shoes! I remember that age....
ReplyDeleteYour glasses look great. Chickie has answered me with "Yes, it looks like something you would wear.", when I have asked her opinion on such things. LOL.
The hair is hilarious.
All blessings.
What a great new meaning to the color orange! (And I go to a church called Hope too... love that name for churches, it's such a glorius word.)
ReplyDeleteWhy can't I make my iPhone pics look like this? Cool glasses. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was through your blog that I learned about the book 1,000 Gifts and the Joy Dare. I began listing my gifts and it really has been good for me. While looking on etsy I saw bird nest necklaces that reminded me of the picture on the front of the book and I ordered one. It just came today and I love it. I wanted it because it makes me think about my gifts and it is a good warm feeling. So just another good result of me finding your blog, thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are a blessing to me too! So glad we "found" each other!
DeleteOh, that baby with her hair and the shoes on the wrong feet are precious. The beauty in the ocean in South Africa makes me sigh. Gorgeous photos. I think your glasses are hipster, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pick a favorite, but if I must, it would be the lilacs in the jam jar. I grew up with lilac bushes, and I can just smell that scent even now. Can't grow them here In Florida. A close second would be the baby picture. I just LOVE that hair!!!! Such a precious list today. So glad I stopped by from Ann's!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think the lilacs in the jam jar are my favorite. I recently did a lilac post.
ReplyDeleteI love lilacs!
DeleteLove this post - such joy to be found daily. And the glasses are cute. :)
