On the dining table, an old metal tool caddy holds red, white and blue pails bought in years gone by from the dollar section at Target.
Silverware is gathered in the two end pails, while the center one holds colorful carnations and American flags.
The stair landing, visible from our front door, has this arrangement above an antique trunk.
I’ve been told the rack is a french bread cooling rack.
I thought it was a candle dipping rack.
Other opinions were that it was an herb drying rack.
All I know is, I like it as wall décor, and I think it was a pretty good deal at $4.99 at the Goodwill
The mantel has had a little patriotic switcheroo, too!
I found this slatted wood piece on my walk,
took it home and gave it a good scrub down with bleach water then left it out in the sun to dry.
Some letter stencils and paint, some paste wax rubbed on when the paint was dry, and VOILA!… rustic, patriotic folk art!
The countdown is on
to America’s 236th birthday,
but in the meanwhile,
Friday’s comin’!
Have a Happy, Happy Friday
and
a Blessed weekend!
Elizabeth
What lovely decor, I sure like that rack, you have a simply gorgeous eye for decor! It's happy!
ReplyDeleteI did see your hubby when he came in yesturday, its funny because I have been here in the office for a few years now, when Tony Nunez came in as our Latino Pastor, your man was here several times for meetings! All I can say is, what a small world! I still would like to meet you ;o)
Everything looks so sweet! Love the rack there but seriously love the tote with the buckets! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteJust got back from a patriotic vacation with my grandson. I wanted him to truly know the meaning behind our patriotic holidays. I made sure he saw the many times our leaders mentioned God as their guide and protector. He saw it in memorials, monuments, their letters and books. It was everywhere and he saw factual firsthand evidence of this so he will know when some try to wipe out our spiritual heritage in this country. It was wonderful.Something worth living for and dying for.
ReplyDeleteI agree, our kids need to know the truth about our history!
DeleteExcellent post - enjoy your holiday. Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your design here. Great job. Blessings - Jodi @ www.meaningfulmama.com
ReplyDeleteI love the wooden pallet you transformed. All so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love every single part of it. For years, my house was decorated in colors that just didn't showcase the red, white, and blue or even Christmas reds and greens. It's better lately, but I still don't do it up as well as you do.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so pretty...love the sign you made.
ReplyDeleteJust crazy about your centerpiece of silverware, buckets, and tote. Nice touches all thru your house.
ReplyDeleteLove that tool box! Wonderful touches.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you be a part of Seasonal Sundays.
