I can remember a time in our life where we had two ministry doors open to us at the same time.
I prayed for God to show us the right way to go.
While, at times, I believe God has one way and only one that He wants us to go, in this instance, God very specifically led me to this verse.
It was as if He said, "It's your choice. Those are both good options. Which do you want to do? I will be with you wherever you go."
I'm not talking here about a choice between right or wrong, or even a choice between something God has told us to do and something we'd rather do, but a choice between two good and right options.
In that case, I think we can boldly step forward, knowing He is with us wherever our wherever may be!
Still following,
Elizabeth
Joshua just happens to be my favorite book in the entire Bible, and I love that verse. I love the way you present the verse as God giving us a choice. How true.
ReplyDeleteAnd how often, have I chosen the wrong choice in a situation? Too often.
I like that. What a great way to explain that age old question of knowing Gods will. How nice to think that God gives us choices.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I have seen people wrestle between which job to take and what God's will is. I feel like you, sometimes it isn't that one or the other is "God's will" but we have to go back to scripture and obey what we do know is God's will. :) Thanks for the reminder and always pointing us in the right direstion. :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, love your thoughts here. I have experienced similar things where God gave me the choice and it's such a beautiful thing! He wants us to co-labor with Him and though there are certainly times of obedience, there are many times of trying out and going on adventures with Him. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteGod has led me in the same way, many times throughout my days of walking with Him. He is EVER so faithful, and knowing that He is with me, even when I am SO indecisive...allows me to be courageous, finding strengths that I know I'd not have if He were not right here with me in all that I do.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I do LOVE HIM.
{I fixed the wonky link, btw ;) hahaha }
These are such great words, filled with so much wisdom. I believe this story you share is one of a Christian who is mature. I am so glad you came by my place so I could find you and read this. What a true blessing!
ReplyDeleteYes sometimes God allows us to use the mind He has given us if it's a choice between 2 good things. Blessings! Patsy from

He's with me even when I forget it, but I'm even more thankful when I do remember.
ReplyDeleteThat verse reminds me of a song (I suppose made from the verse) sung by Michael W. Smith.
ReplyDeleteI love how sometimes God will bring us to a fork in the road and allow us to choose the way to go. He is faithful to walk alongside of us no matter which way we go.
ReplyDeleteSo true! And I'm thankful He's with us which ever road we go down. Blessings! www.toshowthemjesus.com

ReplyDeleteTerrific verse (I've had it underlined in my Bible a looong time) and wonderful truth!

I so love this, it is kind of like what we do when we give our children two choices, both are good, both are our choice but they get to choose. It empowers them to make a choice and get a blessing too.
ReplyDeletePowerful! Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that God showed you this Truth at a time you needed to see it! Thank you for sharing!
