Welcome in!
Though I have a wee, little home, I have quite a large entry hall.
Here's the front door, shot as I'm standing a few steps up the stairway to the second story.
That letter "S", for the first letter in our last name, was a rather ugly zebra stripe wooden letter found on clearance at Ross last summer.
A quick spray with brushed nickel spray paint, then a bit of wiping on and then off some black craft paint, and it looks rather like galvanized metal in person, (not as black as in the photo).
I love my little entryway bench, purchased a year or two ago at Camas Antiques.
My galvanized metal boot tray is from Crate and Barrel.
(Country Living magazine featured this boot tray in the November issue!)
My antique butter churn was a gift from a friend at church years ago.
Yes, I think my begonia is on it's last legs.
Turn the corner and the entry hall continues.
It really was a lot of wasted space in our small home until I decided that there aren't any rules saying I can't display my white ironstone in the hallway.
It's now one of my favorite spaces.
Well, Friday's comin', friends!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
and
a BLESSED weekend!
I have been looking for a blue and white rug like you have in your photo, where did you find it. The only ones I could find online were very expensive. I ended up buying a plain one and painting it with navy stripes and it turned out great by following another bloggers tutorial. I would like another one though and would much rather get one already dyed that way.
ReplyDeleteThe rug is from IKEA. They only cost about $3.99 but wash up great and last like crazy!
DeleteThank you I will go see if I can find one. We just got an Ikea not long ago and it is about an hour away but have gone a few times and enjoyed it very much.
DeleteYour entry looks fabulous, love the little bench!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanne!
DeleteThank you for inviting us in! I love seeing your home. Oh, how I wish I had an entry area. We open the door and step right into the living room. Love your bench and boot tray. Love it all!

P.S. - I have an 'S', too. For our last name. Need to paint it because it's red!
Entry ways are such a welcoming part of a home. Yours is just that! So warm and inviting.

Love it, looks so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've utilized your "wasted" space! Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteNon-post question: When I go to make a comment, it re-directs me to put in my password for my email account. This is scary to me! I wonder if someone is trying to get my password. Usually, I just won't make a comment if they request a password. Comments?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I don't know why it would do that. It will ask me to log in to Google sometimes.
Deletewhat a lovely entryway, so organized :)
