At approximately 3:30p.m. today I received a text from my youngest daughter, that there was a shooting at Clackamas Town Center Mall, just ten minutes south of where we live, and right across the street from where she works.
I am sure it is on the national news by now.
Two people are confirmed dead, as is the shooter.
Please pray for the families of the victims and for all of the people at the mall, especially the children, who have been traumatized by this horrible event.
You can imagine that many were there Christmas shopping, visiting Santa,
getting ready for the coming holiday.
As we see this blatant evidence of rampant darkness and evil,
may the light, life and hope of Jesus shine bright and strong through His people.
Still following,
I hadn't heard. I haven't had the heart to watch the news these days. I have been trying to occupy my head with other things right now. This is downside to that because tragedy happens, and I'm behind the loop.
ReplyDeleteI will join you in lifting those affected by this, and you are so right that darkness is ever creeping into our world. I am so glad that I know the Light.
(And maybe this is an inappropriate place to put it, but I just saw your tree post and love that fir tree. )
That is so sad. Oh, I sure hope none of the victims were children. What is wrong with people?!
ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking. I will definately be praying for the families. My His light shine brighter than this evil.
ReplyDeleteOur eyes were glued to the local news coverage as soon as we heard the news. Our hearts are heavy for those who were caught in this senseless act.

I did hear about this and my first thoughts went to you and your family. This is so sad and senseless. What is the world coming to. Jesus come soon.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the news this morning, I immediately thought of you! Praying for these families.
ReplyDeleteI am in prayer too, my own granddaughter was supposed to sing with her eighth grade class on thursday in the food 'section' of the mall. I can't even begin to think of the terror and the horrible affect this will have on so many. That is why I so enjoy shopping on line, too many 'sick' people out there.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I had heard that there was a shooting somewhere, but didn't catch where it was. So glad that you and yours are safe; praying for the families of those effected.
