O Christmas Tree(s)...

My oldest granddaughter, age 9, and only grandson, age 8,
have been going with me on my run/walk most days since they've been here.
They like it best when I let them ride their bikes, but on this particular day, we were all on foot.
A couple of streets away, our neighbor's yard was full of beautiful noble fir trees for sale.
They were only $15 each, and the proceeds went to support their son's Boy Scout troop.
So, the grandkids and I came home from our walk, bearing our beautiful Christmas tree.
Our living room tree is topped with a homemade star that I fashioned from twigs.
Zinc hearts and stars are hung here and there.
Gingerbread hearts and stars adorn the tree as well.
Jute webbing and red wooden beads are used as garland.

White felt snowflakes and white wooden snowflakes and some candy canes complete the tree decorations.
The lights on our trees are all white, which is my preference.
Tucked in the corner of my home office is an artificial tree decorated by the grandkids
with a whole mish mash of  ornaments collected through the years.
It was fun to let them decorate this tree however they wanted to.

I think today I will pick up the last of the stocking stuffers for the grandkids, and maybe get started on some baking, or perhaps finally write out our Christmas cards.

What are you up to this fine December day?

Still following,

  1. I love the simplicity of your decorations! I am puttering around the house - trying to decide how much or how little to unpack and use this year. Our trip last week was wonderful and it changed my usual schedule. OK, but we both came home with colds and sore throats to deal with. What's most important this year is the precious-ness of our Savior's work in our lives through the past year - and for many years to come!

  9. Your tree is so pretty and unique! Love the cookie ornaments, and the hearts! The chair webbing is a great garland, too! I may use burlap on mine that I have added a little "frost" to. Not sure yet! Probably won't get to the tree until Sunday!!

Thanks for sharing at Blissful Whites Wednesday!
    Hugs,
