I feel a little teary eyed thinking about sharing my 3000th gratitude, (and beyond),
here on my blog today.
It's been just over three years now that I've been counting my blessings
and writing them down in a journal that I keep just for that purpose.
I'm on my second journal, yet the truth of it is, I've missed so much.
So many of His blessings go by me unnoticed, unwritten, unappreciated.
But, 3000 acknowledgements, 3000 thank yous, is a whole lot better than none.
And so I'll keep up my feeble attempt to count His blessings,
though they are, in truth, too numerous to count.

In 2012 I followed the prompts in Ann Voskamp's Joy Dare in counting my thanks.
In 2013 I'm going back to the way I did it in the beginning,
just noticing and recording the many extraordinary blessings in my ordinary life.
just noticing and recording the many extraordinary blessings in my ordinary life.
And so I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my little black journal.
(and capturing some of them via my camera or iPhone)

Gratefully yours,
There is nothing so calming, safe and satisfying as a thankful spirit. You "wear" it well, Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteCounting our blessings and naming them one by one. All the way to 3000. This is what keeps our cares and troubles in check and reminds us how good God is. :)
ReplyDeleteGratitude makes for a healthy heart! So proud of you for continuing to count your gifts. You inspire me. I keep saying I am going to start counting again. One day...until then, today I am thankful for a quiet afternoon to write, without distractions.
ReplyDeleteIn my gratitude journal today: #3672 -- finding Elizabeth online (and on Instagram) and how her blog calms, encourages and uplifts me.

Such an adventurous post! Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching 3000 gratitudes. It changes the way we see things when we begin to count and write down. Loved seeing the Oregon Coast through your photos.

I love your site design, so calming and lovely. And I was meant to visit today because I've been mulling over the idea of rejoining the multitudes Monday community. I stopped at 1,000 on one of my earlier blogs, perhaps I'll begin again?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on surpassing 3,000, Elizabeth! I'm half of yours and will never quit. How can I? There is so much to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing yours.
What a blessing to read, Elizabeth. A true joy. Keep counting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to "meet" you and 3,000! Just beautiful. Blessings to you, Elizabeth :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post Elizabeth! What a wonderful treat to be here to help you celebrate the big 3000! It is so easy for us to fall into the bad habit of complaining, but not enough of us focus on what is good. No matter what, there is always something to be joyful about each and every day!
