We were on a little getaway last week, so I don't have any decorating projects or new treasures to share with you.
( I did get to go to a huge, packed to the brim antique store in Klamath Falls, but I didn't buy anything!
There were a couple of vintage cameras that I passed up that tempted me.)
What's really happening around here is all happening outside, as everything is in bloom.
This is a pink "sexy rexy" floribunda rose.
Some of my roses developed black spot, but a friend who works in a local garden center recommended a natural spray that seems to be helping. (Safer Garden Fungicide)
The yellow coreopsis opened up while were out of town.
The shasta daisies are just beginning to open.
The pink geraniums in our patio pots are thriving.
Our hydrangeas are just now starting to open.
Three out of four lavender plants are blooming, but one is looking bit sickly.
This yellow floribunda rose is blooming abundantly this year.
I have a David Austin Glamis Castle white rose that has buds, but hasn't opened up yet,
and a rose bush with beautiful yellow roses tinged in red, (that I can't remember the name of),
that bloomed once already this year and has new buds about to open.
I really have no gardening knowledge or experience, so I look up questions online or consult friends.
But in truth, any beauty that blossoms in my backyard is a gift of God...
a much appreciated and much enjoyed gift!
still following,
We've been on a little adventure too. It was nice to get away for sure. I love your photos. Each and every one is really frame worthy. I can only imagine how gorgeous they are IRL.
ReplyDeleteBut in real life, you also see the weeds!
DeleteHydrangeas and pink and yellow roses. Oh how your garden grows. I'm so glad you can take pictures. Lovely. I'm trying not to be jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteNothing to be jealous of, friend. As I commented back to Debbie, above, I'm not showing you the weeds.
DeleteSuch an abundant garden, indeed! These pink " sexy rexy" roses are gorgeous, Elizabeth! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletei do love their almost peony-like fullness!
DeleteSo many beautiful flowers. Roses are just beginning to bloom here.
ReplyDeleteAnd your photos of them will be amazing! What camera do you use, Susan?
DeleteI was looking on Pinterest yesterday and something looked very familiar. I clicked on where it said website and sure enough it was a picture of your cubby shelf with your white things in it. What a compliment to your style to have someone pin you onto Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, there's of few things of mine on there.
DeletePortland hydrangeas....so fabulously beautiful! I hope I get to the west side before August! Wonderful images.
ReplyDeleteYes, our state certainly has a lot of different weather types and foliage.
DeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great getaway! I have a running journal where I list the Joy Dare blessings. It's a blessing just to look through them occasionally, but the stop and pause every day is important.
Your blooms are so gorgeous. What a wonderful God we serve!
Loved your post on your upstairs balcony. A wee bit jealous here. :)
DeleteYou're an incredible photographer!!! So much heart in your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm an incredible photographer WANNABE! Thanks, Julie!
DeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend.
DeleteGorgeous! Simply gorgeous. Now I'll have to go out and prune our bushes so they bloom abundantly again. Food would help, too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Janis
Miracle grow rose food made a huge difference!
DeleteYour garden is beautiful. We bought a brand new house with NOTHING in the yard. It is so blech! Since we probably won't stay here long, we are not going to do to much to the yard, but I cant wait for my forever home.
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks for linking up again... we are slowing building a community ;-)
