While there's a list of projects around the house I should get done this summer,
June is already slipping by with nary a one checked off that list.
But if that list included strolling around the backyard in my pajamas and slippers each morning to see what blossoms are open, well, I've checked that one off the list most days.
There's also been a lot of grandkid lovin' on the list.
Check. Check.
Runs in the cool of the evening and having to pause in my running to notice the feathery cirrus cloud formations in the summer sky, why I've done a bit of that, too.
Morning devotions at the desk in my home office with a cup of hot coffee and the cool morning air wafting through the open window has been a definite priority.
Practicing my photography, (still learning my way around my Nikon d7000),
yes, I've done a bit of that.
Oh, I've also gathered the supplies to make strawberry jam.
All but the strawberries that is.
Next week I hope to accomplish that.
Going blueberry picking with all the grands is a must-do as well.
Then there's church activities in there, too.
This Saturday is our annual pre-4th of July barbecue and outreach.
We have an annual homemade ice cream contest.
Making the best ice cream ever is, of course, an important item on my to-do list.
Dreaming of and making vacation plans is another summer priority.
It's beginning to occur to me that autumn might be just the season to get things done around the house.
It's almost Friday friends!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
and a BLESSED weekend.
Elizabeth, I would say you have your priorities exactly where they need to be. Fall is good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth!
DeleteMy summer to-do list is getting longer by the minute! I keep adding things that MUST be done before family comes to visit in late summer. I'm afraid I could be spending time to add to the list that I should be spending d.o.i.n.g things on the list! I have priorities that won't be shaken but my list may not be accomplished this year. Maybe next summer!

With this warm weather, I'm having a hard time staying motivated to do anything around the house!

LOL! I agree, Mary, though right now the laundry needs done, and the bathrooms could use their weekly scrubbing!

DeleteGood Morning Elizabeth, When I worked, I had list upon list as my life was so busy. I even found a list in an old filofax (I know very '80's) detailing Christmas and New Year in 1985 and when I look at the list I really do not know how I accomplished everything.
ReplyDeleteNowadays I am retired and I have a vague list in my head of things I would like to accomplish, but other than that I have decided to enjoy each day as it comes and if a job gets done, that is good and if not there is always tomorrow.
I love how you stop and enjoy the cloud formation when you are out running, as it is important to enjoy the moment.
Elizabeth I have really enjoyed my visit and I have become a new follower. I found you at Kathryn's blog The Dedicated House.
I would like to invite you to visit me at Ivy, Phyllis and Me! when you have a moment as you will be more than welcome.
Enjoy your 4th July celebrations and good luck with the ice cream making competition.
Best Wishes
Daphne
