This scripture from Job reminds me of the adage, "where there's life, there's hope".
How many times have I, have you, felt cut down by life's storms, by circumstances or even by others?
How many times has it seemed like you couldn't go on, that surely this situation really was the straw that broke the camel's back, the knock down punch from which you would never recover?
And yet, in your spirit, there was still Life.
And even though it looked impossible, even though it looked hopeless, resurrection power surged through your impossibility, and you're still here, standing strong.
Where there's life, there's hope, friend.
If you have received Christ as Savior and Lord, than in you is the Spirit of Life Himself.
Your circumstances may have you feeling like a cut down tree, a withered up stump,
but there's still Life, there's still Hope.
Start looking for, start expecting, some sprouts, some tender shoots.

ReplyDeleteI always found it amusing that the book of Job was my Mama's favorite book in the Bible, yet there really is a lot of treasure in this "difficult" book.

Delete"Hope" is a good God-thing that can be planted in our hearts, even while they are feeling a bit frustrated, sorrowful. AND, yes, the stumps can so often just grow and grow some more. Seen it here, there, and various places in the world... and it truly means the same thing, the same Word. A good example.
