Sometimes life gets just plain overwhelming.
About the time you think you're slipping under the muck and mire in the slough of despair for the last time,
take a look at something majestic...
a mountain,
the sea,
an eagle soaring in the sky,
why even a newborn baby is quite a wonder to behold.
Then quiet your emotions long enough to remember, that the One Who created all this wonder,
is still ruling on the throne of this universe
and He still has a firm hold on you, too.
Look up, friend, look up.
still following,
Dear Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked at Miunt Fuji, I thought that life sometimes feels smothered by so much snow! But as you have said, let us just keep on looking up! Have a great weekend with your family, dear friend.
Much love XX
Mia
Thank you so much, Mia. I'm blessed by you.
DeleteI love this! It's all about reminding ourselves with perspective, isn't it? No matter how "big" the mess is, there is always something right at hand to remind us how much bigger our God is.
ReplyDeleteI needed that reminder today.
Me too, that's why I posted it!
DeleteAn excellent photo to accompany that verse.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Susan.
DeleteThis Psalm was very special to me last year when I was in the hospital. I am so thankful that He is my Help.
ReplyDeleteIt took me quite a while to figure out that this verse meant to look at creation and remember the Creator. For me, looking at the sea does the trick every time...if He can control the power of the waves, He can handle me and my life.
DeleteSuch a blessing to read this encouraging post and see that image...our God is faithful and true!
ReplyDeleteHe sure is, Marty!
DeleteOur church is having an outdoor service today and I'm looking forward to simply looking up and praising Him. Your words have my heart dancing. Thank you, Elizabeth. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAn outdoor service sounds like great fun!
DeleteI like what Mia said. Looking up today with you Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteMe too, friend, I'm looking up, too!
DeleteHi Elizabeth! To quiet the emotions is the real trick isn't it? My sister lives in Colorado, your image looks like the beauty there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me on my blog! So glad we could meet through Weekend Brew :)
Peace in Christ,
Ceil
Thanks for coming by Cell! This is in Oregon, but yes, the mountains look about the same!
DeleteYep, I take a walk along the beach and everything rights itself. Lovely photo Elizabeth. Hope your weekend was restful. Sending lots of love and a big hug.
ReplyDeleteI agree Shelly!
DeleteOne of my favorite Psalms. I've been clinging to it a lot the last few years. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteMe, too, friend. Me too!
