Psalm 130~(paraphrased by me)
When the bottom falls out of my life
God hears my cries for help
He hears my cries for mercy
His ears are always attentive to my voice
If He kept a record of all of my sins, all of my stumbling, all of my weakness
I could never stand before Him
But He is the God Who forgives
I worship and revere Him
I wait for Him expectantly
I wait for His presence
I wait for His promises
I wait with hopeful expectation
I wait confident in the truth of His Word
I look and wait and watch for the Lord
More than the watchman waits with longing for the morning sunrise
I wait and watch for my God
When He comes I will have the love my heart longs for
When He comes I will rejoice in His abundant redemption
All of my sins, my stumbling, my weakness He has forgiven

I loved this!!! I hear your heart Elizabeth. And I love your comments on everyone else's blogs too.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kelsi! It's been a busy week so I'm slow getting around to other blogs and responding to comments here. So glad you popped in!
Delete"But He is the God who forgives" such a beautiful and meaning statement. Living, believing and know that He forgives changed my life. Bless you my sweet sister. xo
ReplyDeleteSo, so thankful for His forgiveness. Bless you too, Melissa!
DeleteYes Elizabeth! I love how you broke down the passage in words from you heart. One piece in particular resonated with me: "If He kept a record of all of my sins, all of my stumbling, all of my weakness I could never stand before Him." Thank you God for Your forgiveness because in it we can stand.
ReplyDeleteI agree Steffi! We can stand boldly covered in His grace.

DeleteLovely! I'd never thought about paraphrasing scripture myself. How meaningful does it make the words to personalize them in this way!
ReplyDeleteHolly, I've written Ephesians and some of the other shorter books of the Bible out in my own words as a type of praying. It's been very beneficial to me.
DeleteBeautiful!!♥
ReplyDeleteMany greetings from Finland,

Hello my faraway friend! So happy you came by and took the time to comment.
DeleteSo much of what you said, Elizabeth, is exactly what I would say, too. His forgiveness is so amazing considering I'm not sinless. And He's broken into my life over and over again. I'm a grateful cookie. Bless you...
ReplyDeleteBless you too, dear friend.
DeleteLove how you've personalized this, Elizabeth. When the bottom falls out of my life, he hears. Hanging on to that.
ReplyDeleteWe're writing on the same word today: "waiting." I know there's something He wants us to learn from this word, Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always, Elizabeth! I didn't tackle the SheReadsTruth assignment this week - maybe next.
