Memorial Day Mantel...

Life is chaotic and wonderful and messy and complicated and beautiful right now.  Our preemie grandson is discharged from the hospital and our son-in-law is home from his father's funeral. (Yes, these two events happened at the same time.) I'm helping them as much as possible as they adjust to having this wee one in the family and as my daughter recuperates from some post-caesarean complications.

Last Sunday afternoon, I did some chores around the house that hadn't been done in two weeks due to the current busy-ness.  So, because puttering around the house is therapeutic to me, I changed out my mantel decor.

I made my new grandson a pennant garland with his name on it to hang on the wall by his crib,
and with the leftover fabric, made some pennant garland for myself.

I moved my odds and ends of thrift store milk glass to the mantel as well.

With a few small changes, these mantel decorations will be suitable through the fourth of July!

It's almost Friday, friends!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
and
 a BLESSED MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!
(Hip, Hip, Hurray for the unofficial start of summer!)

  1. I always love your décor but this is great! I haven't even thought about Memorial Day until this morning, let alone decorate for it. You're on top of it, my friend. Love what you did!

  2. It is very pretty, Elizabeth. I have been wondering how you have found the energy to keep going. Now I know. I am sure God was holding your hand these past couple of weeks. I am glad that you found some time for yourself.

    Love you,

    1. Debbi, today I sort of "hit a wall" and have not felt very well and have been quite lazy and unmotivated!
