I picked up the orchid,
ready to thrown it out,
thinking it had no life left in it,
when I noticed three buds.

The next week,
it began to bloom.

Sometimes, it's all too easy to give up,
to quit too soon.
Your season to bloom might be sooner than you think.

still following,
Your photos are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Stacey! It was a new experiment to shoot it purposefully backlit.
DeleteElizabeth, I always manage to kill orchids. I'm very impressed. Excellent analogy :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, I really had nothing to do with it. Remember, I was about to throw it out!
DeleteOh Elizabeth, these images are so full of beauty!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Barbara. Your photos this week, oh my goodness! LOVE them!
Deletebeautiful! I have missed visiting! It's summer!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you get to have the summer to relax a bit, work in your amazing yard and garden, and to pop in here now and then!
DeleteBeautiful! The quote is perfect for the image. I love the bokeh.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Michelle!
DeleteIt's a gorgeous Orchid!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. I really did have nothing to do with it's growth. It has been sorely neglected and I did actually think it was time to throw it out!
Deleteyou really do orchids so well, I usually have two or three in my house at a time and find them difficult to photograph but you have really done so nicely. I must practice.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, I neglect orchids well, and then a miracle happens and they bloom! The photos were an equally pleasant surprise as I was trying something new with having them backlit.
DeleteExquisite message, Elizabeth. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie!
DeleteAmazing pictures. So beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mary!
DeleteI love that quote in fact it is on my blog page.
ReplyDeleteLove the concept of being patient and looking closer for growth.
I didn't even realize you have that quote on your blog! Wow, that's awesome!
DeleteWhat a beautiful thought, Elizabeth! The light behind that orchid is wonderful, and I love that you made a series of your images and words.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to try something new and to shoot with it backlit.
DeleteGorgeous! Such beautiful light.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jill!
DeleteI absolutely love your first photo. The composition is great with the diagonal line through the photo from the top left to lower right caused by the dark stems and the lighter blossom. And what a fabulous background. Beatifully done.
ReplyDeleteAny compliments from you are so encouraging! You're a photography guru!
DeleteBeautiful photos and thought.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tori! I loved your photo and quote as well!
DeleteYou images are delicate and so lovely. And your story of the orchid and giving up too soon -- such an encouragement!
ReplyDeleteI'm blessed that you were encouraged, Sharon!
DeleteBeautiful photos and so encouraging!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Barbie!
DeleteI for one am glad to benefit from your experimenting! These are lovely! and you are blessed to have an orchid bloom for you! It's not humid enough where I am, I guess, and I forget to spritz them everyday :)
ReplyDeleteSo true, great example Elizabeth! Thanks for sharing with us in Texture Twist!!
ReplyDeleteMan this is lovely. It is extremely hard not to feature you more often. Thank you for your words and your photos!! And thanks for linking up faithfully!!
