I really love setting up and photographing still life shots for playing with photo editing and textures.
This week, however, I decided to take some photos of things in my home as is.
Taking photos of this antique cubby which sits atop an antique library table in my living room,
gave me a new appreciation for what a lovely piece it is.
Yes, it's not even October, but I love white mini pumpkins,
and snatched three up when I saw them in the store.
I set them in these stoneware cups on top of the wooden cubby.

This might be my favorite photo.
The simplicity appeals to me.

But I also love this photo of the flowers my husband bought me for our anniversary.

Taking photos helps me to really see things that I take for granted and really does help me to appreciate them more!

Rivien, first of all, your name is so beautiful! Thank you for coming by and for taking the time to comment!
DeleteIt's all so lovely to me. I really do love your style and your eye.
ReplyDeleteI always long for white pumpkins, and I have never seen them around these parts a single time.
Debbie, really? Maybe they don't grow there? We find them in the grocery store near the pumpkins and gourds and Indian corn and other fall stuff. These three were the first I've seen this year and were at a local antique stores fall show.
DeleteThanks for your kind comment, Elizabeth, under my paperflower post! The texture of your photographs are much more tenderly, you hardly perceive them!
ReplyDeleteUwe.
Thank you so much for coming by and taking time to comment!
DeleteI love the white pumpkins - your images are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barb! I love them too and I'm sure more of them will show up around my house before too long!
DeleteNow, I am truly in the mood for fall. I am enjoying the soft rain, a bowl of warm oatmeal, and your lovely photos for today. Your vignettes are welcoming and clearly reflect your style and love of old and treasured and natural elements.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here has been summer like during the day, but the cool mornings are a sure giveaway that fall is near! Thanks for coming by Donna!
DeleteHow fun what you have done and I love the cubby with your treasures and oh yes that pumpkin set up is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara!
Deletei can't agree with you more! Lovely photos. We should soon be seeing pumpkins in the stores here too. I didn't grow any this year and am regretting it already.
ReplyDeleteLove the white pumpkins...did you know I come from the "pumpkin capital of the world" and this weekend is the pumpkin festival? : )
ReplyDeleteI knew you would like my antique homeschooling cabinet. My dad found it in an old, dilapidated barn in Kansas and rescued it from demise. He refurnished it and when my mom sold her house and remarried, she gave it to me. Then I moved and gave it to my brother. Big mistake.
After several years, he was done with it and offered to give it back and I'm so happy to have it again!
Someday you'll have to come and see my most precious antique...my violin from 1769.
Hi Elizabeth. I really enjoyed your photos. I don't think it's too early for the mini pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty space. I love the cubby and the white pumpkins.
