He whispers his insidious lies, not outlandish enough for me to dismiss outright like “there is no God,” for to me, God’s existence is evident all around me. No, Satan is much more clever than that. He crafts his deception to fit my weakness perfectly, then builds his case by pointing to the circumstantial evidence and tries to get me to believe that he is actually speaking the truth. “You are not enough” he breathes into my ear. The evidence to confirm what he says is piled high…
Please join me here at Jennifer Duke Lee's for the rest of my post. Jennifer was one of the first bloggers to reach out to me, to encourage me, when I started my blog in 2009. What a blessing she was, (a former professional journalist!), to reach out to me, a no-name wannabe writer! When I met her in person in 2013, she was every bit as gracious and kind and filled with Jesus as I imagined her to be. Her book, Love Idol, tells her story from journalist to farmer's wife to book author, and her journey in growing to believe and accept the truth that we are pre-approved by God.

ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing it is to read your words! Thank you for the reminder & sharing that God loves each one of us with an immeasurable love. There is such hope, mercy & grace in being able to know that He is the one that loves us above all others. I'll admit that I have been a slow learner in this area. Each day I continue to grow in Him. Your blog is one way that He ministers to me! Praying for those that don't know how abundant His love is.
Krista, I think repeatedly saturating our minds with the truth of God's Word is the key. This world bombards us with so much negative we have to be filled up with the truth!
DeleteI tried to leave a comment over at Jennifer's but could not get a comment box for some reason--anyway, just wanting you to know how proud I am of what God is doing with your writing career and the many lives that you are able to impact. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh friend, I have no writing career, just a few guest posts here and there. Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me.
DeleteThat sting of rejection, even from long ago can run deep! I know God loves me & that He will never leave me! I also ponder how Jesus was rejected. But He's in glory land now, making a mansion for me. I love that hymn "turn your eyes upon Jesus...& the things of earth become strangely dim...in the light of His glory & grace." I love reading all your posts Elizabeth! Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia
