It's a bit of a challenge on the gray, rainy days to get both the lighting and the inspiration for good indoor shots.
This week I kept it simple.
There was no styling a combination of interesting objects,
just the simple beauty of a few ordinary objects standing alone.
Except for a pair of pears, that is.

I like the pop of the red pot in the photo of my aloe vera plant.

This simple, all neutral colored photo of a Heath pottery casserole dish is my favorite of today's photo efforts.
still following,
I love your photography! You make ordinary things look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Barbie!
DeleteI saw some beautiful Bosc (?) pears in the Nampa Albertsons when we were in Boise last weekend. I wish I had bought some. Beautiful pair duo.... great color post, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Evelyn!
DeleteThey're all beautiful! I don't think I can pick a favourite. I do like the simplicity of the last one, but for some reason the second one really appeals to me, too.
ReplyDeleteI sure appreciate your encouragement, Jill!
DeleteI think I like the red pot with the beautiful succulent best. I like your word play on the first image. I agree the last image is very special.

DeleteBeautiful photos - I love your processing. I'm pretty new to still life photography, but I thoroughly enjoy it. Your images are a wonderful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCarola, still life is my favorite I think. Maybe because moving objects, like people, are more challenging!
Deletenothing ordinary about this post!

DeleteMany of us on Kim's link up think so this week!
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity and color in the first image of pears is stunning. I love the silver shine of the knife in the next image, too. These are lovely!

DeleteI am telling you, your still lifes are definitely ranking up there with the likes of Kim Klassen and others on her blog. You amaze me.
ReplyDeleteOh, Lisa, I'm far from Kim's level, but I sure appreciate your encouragement.
DeleteOh yes, shooting indoors on a gray day is tough. That is why I purchased umbrella lights a few years ago. I've tried flash lights too - but it just washes the texture and detail in my opinion. Have you tried in lighting?
ReplyDeleteKristy, I haven't even looked into investing in lights, but perhaps I should.
