Hyacinths...

(edited with Kim's 0411 texture, hard light, 40% opacity)

Last week I posted some very simple photos of a little pot of grocery store hyacinths.
The very next day they fully bloomed, so I had to take some more photos,
this time in more of a vignette.

(edited with PicMonkey's plumbe, fade 70%, and Kim's just a touch 2 texture, lighten, 25% opacity)

(edited with Kim's carmel texture, screen mode, 20% opacity)

I love that spring blooms are already in the stores here!

  1. Aren't they delightful flowers, though? I bought a bulb planted in glass and water...in Safeway. I chose purple, and I'm anxiously waiting for it to bloom! (The roots in water are almost as interesting to see!) Your choice of white is good for the pretty pot and cup!

    1. Evelyn, I'm sorry for the delay in replying, but we left town for a few days. Anyway, I always force paperweights in just gravel and water, and it is interesting to see the growth from "both ends"!

    1. I'm thinking for two or three dollars some more grocery store flowers need to come home with me.

  7. I am very drawn into your second to last photo. Love the mellowness of the deeper colors contrasted with the spring like hyacinth. Very lovely vignette.

  13. I love the contrast of the rough/unfinished wood with the fine porcelain of the tea cup and saucer. And yes, the hyacinths are nice, too.
