Someday I hope to plant some flowering quince in our yard.
I just love its beautiful coral colored blossoms.

In the meanwhile I foraged these blooms from some city owned woods near our home.
They are the long forgotten plantings of some old owner in years gone by
and are now just about covered up with blackberry vines.

I managed to rescue a few of these beauties with only a few minor scratches from the blackberry thorns
and am enjoying them immensely added to this tray of things on my dining room table.

Beautiful china, pretty flowers... what a lovely set-up! There is something really beautiful about flowers on bare twigs --no leaves, all blooms and buds.

DeleteThere was flowering quince at the nursery the other day and I was so wishing I could come home with just a few branches...love the complementary colors of the blue and orange!!
