Monday was rainy and stormy and windy and gray,
but I still had errands to run and groceries to buy.
Since my last bouquet of flowers from the hubs had to be thrown out that morning,
I bribed myself to get my errands done by promising myself that I'd pop into Trader Joe's
for some fresh flowers to cheer up the gloomy day.
I went into Trader Joe's and came out with three cheery plants instead of flowers.
I brought them home and repotted them into clay pots.
I'm loving the pops of green.
It's a good reminder that the first day of spring is only a little more than a month away.
The best part, two of the plants are fresh herbs that I can use in cooking,
and eventually plant outside if I choose to.
This cute little plant in my dining room is Italian parsley.
On my kitchen windowsill is a cheery, little thyme plant.
I also bought this plant, that I can't for the life of me remember the name of!
I love it's little white flowers.
I'm hoping one of you will remind me of the name and advise me on care instructions.
These new plants join some old standbys that have been around my house for quite some time.
I think every home should have some living green plants.

DeleteIt looks like Kalanchaloe (sp?). Love your herbs and those pots are darling. I'd better head to Trader Joe's right away. Fresh herbs would be wonderful in my kitchen window.

DeleteYes, I agree it is a kalanchoe and I understand it is pronounced "colon...collie" I put mine outside in spring/summer and it was huge...bloomed three different colors and so gorgeous! Kay
