I love it when the grocery store sells bunches of the small, multi-blossomed clusters of spray roses.
I think I may love them more than the elegant long stemmed roses.

When one lonely bloom broke off of a bouquet of grocery store spray roses,
it fit perfectly in this wee, blue, vintage bottle,
and became the star of this simple valentine vignette.

My favorite is this photo shot from above.

still following,
I'm a sucker for any rose, spray, long stemmed or whatever. This is so feminine. I love that you used a florist "frog" to hold the valentine. Clever idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marilyn!
DeleteBeautiful series of still lifes!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jill!
DeleteBeautiful photos! Very feminine!

Thank you so much, Britta!
DeleteI think I agree with you those are sweet roses. I love your vintage bottle so pretty...
ReplyDeleteViv, some people wouldn't "get" rummaging through an antique store for old blue bottles.
DeleteDrooling over your photos!! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Tammy!
DeleteLovely photos. That card is wonderful and I like the way you are using the brush to hold it up-clever.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Abrianna!
DeleteSo pretty and that little rose is so sweet - love that antique valentine too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteElizabeth, These pictures would make such beautiful Valentine's cards. I'm sure every one of your friends would love an original work of art! The flower frog and the vintage bottle are the perfect accompaniments to this delicate rose and vintage Valentine. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Donna. Your encouragement blesses me!
DeleteBeautiful series. I like the idea of using the frog to hold the cards. The bottle is very nice. And, I really like the last photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Earl!
DeleteEvery image is so lovely. I thought as I scrolled through each one was my favorite until I saw the next one! The closeup of the rose probably wins. The delicate pink of your single rose -- luscious. Love the vintage books and valentines, too. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteSharon, I do love the last photo of the rose, too. I'm starting to long for my own rose bushes to bloom!
DeleteThe colors, the old glass bottle, the selected texture.....all came nicely together. I too like the shot from above.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lisa!
DeleteSo sweet! That single rose makes the vignette just perfect! Yes, I will be your Valentine. Wouldn't it be fun if we bloggers could exchange Valentines the way we did when we were in school?
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Thank you, my sweet friend.
DeleteBeautiful simplicity! Sorry my comments weren't working on my blog after a Jet Pack update. They are back up now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous colour rose - my favourite shot is the overhead one which includes the lace mat too #lifethruthelens
ReplyDeleteThose are all so beautiful I can't pick a favorite. I do like the from above but I really like the second one too.
ReplyDeleteI, too, prefer the casual type of flowers that are sold as opposed to the dressy, fancy bunches. Your shots are really awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh man, Of course I am in love with this. How can I not feature this, with it being Valentines day weekend and all. Be sure to check out the Pinterest board.
