While walking through Lowe's one day on the many trips I have made there during our "new to us home" renovation, I saw wooden Christmas ornaments that looked like they had been simply dipped in white paint, with the top part left unpainted. I really liked the look of them, but not the price for a box of four.
The next time I was in Michael's craft store I picked up a dozen plain wooden ornaments. I chose the two shapes I liked the best. One cold autumn afternoon, my oldest granddaughter and I rigged up a drying line on the kitchen counter, and dipped the ornaments in matte white craft paint and hung them up to dry.
I LOVE how they turned out!
I especially love that they were on sale at Michael's.
I got a dozen ornaments for less than one box of four ready made ornaments at Lowe's!
I also bought a half dozen of these little deer head wooden ornaments, which my oldest granddaughter painted with the same matte paint as the other ornaments.
Well, it's almost Friday, friends!
And guess what?
We've only got three weeks until Christmas!!!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
and
a SAFE and BLESSED weekend!
Your wooden ornaments are just perfect! What a good deal to make them and enjoy them as much as the expensive ones you found. Your tree is absolutely gorgeous in your new home. Ours should go up soon. Hopefully!
