"You make me feel so young,
you make me feel so spring has sprung"-Frank Sinatra
Last week began with two beautiful spring-like days.
It's so true that sunny spring weather puts a spring in my step.
I feel invigorated and ready to put on my running shoes and head outside for some exercise.

Then several gray rainy days followed those two spring-like ones.
I felt slower, more sluggish, and I had to force myself to exercise.

We're still a month away from spring's official beginning,
so I better practice some patience, endurance and self-discipline!
Meanwhile, I'm on my second round of forcing hyacinth bulbs to bloom.
I love bringing the promise of spring indoors in winter.

still following,
I can almost smell the lovely hyacinths. Beautiful still lifes.

DeleteOne of my favorite flowers!
ReplyDeleteMine, too!
DeleteWhat a great song to sing on my dreary winter's day.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I got you humming a tune!
Deletei heard Frank Sinatra sing that song!!
ReplyDelete1989 in Reno, Nevada - we surprised my husband's
mother with a concert. Frank himself was
10 feet away. what a wonderful evening that was...
springtime cometh!
WoW! I wish I could say I've heard Frank Sinatra in person!
DeleteI can only imagine the scent you are breathing in with those hyacinths! Hyacinths always make me think of Easter. Thanks for sharing at Song-ography.
ReplyDeleteThey do have a sweet smell, but not overpowering like paper whites can be at times.
Deleteeven though its gray and rainy again, seeing daffodils blooming and tulips beginning to emerge makes me so happy and hopeful!
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Jill!
DeleteI love the smell of these flowers. I think I shall have to buy a little pot of them next time I go to the shop

Molly, they bring lots of cheer for just a couple of dollars at the grocery store!
DeleteYour antique teapot is perfect for these delicate flowers. I love that photo especially!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sharon!
DeleteBeautiful still life. That last one should be printed and framed.
ReplyDeleteI do remember Frank Sinatra's song too!!!
God Bless~ Addie
Thank you so much, Addie. The last one is my favorite as well.
DeleteI've given that last picture more thought.....you could get it printed on canvas. It would look like an oil painting. It would be lovely hanging in your "new to you home".

What a beautiful composition! I love these photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Kayni!
DeleteBeautiful stills, Elizabeth! We gave out hyacinth bulbs at our wedding. I like to think of them all blooming this time of year! Have a wonder-filled week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to give away bulbs as a wedding favor!
DeleteThe pink is so pretty! I purchased two purple hyacinths as bulbs in glass at Safeway, but they were too large for the containers and tilted to the side as soon as they bloomed. I'll plant them outside soon and hope they come up next spring.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to replant the bulbs that I bloomed indoors, so I'll enjoy them again next spring!
DeleteGorgeous photos Elizabeth - and I can only imagine the smell. Such detail too :) #LTTL
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty. Man my light stinks right now, I really cannot wait to be able to get back to still life photography.
