Sometimes I lose focus in my walk with God as well. I become focused on the areas of my life that I'm not as far along as I think I should be, or the prayers I'm not yet seeing answered. In the same way that time away from home gave me a new focus on what I love and appreciate about it, God's Word is a great "refocus-er". When God reminds us what not to forget...

I have loved that section of Psalm 103 for many years for the very reason that it helps me to remember the benefits I have enjoyed in my life thus far. It also fills me with hope for those very benefits I may be waiting on. It reminds me that our God is always faithful and all He does is done in wisdom. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the beauty and power found in Psalm 103. Definitely one of my favorites as well!
DeleteOh, yes! The 'to do' list or the hot humid summers or hurricane season seem to be my catalysts for the state of my affairs, yet do I stand still and see the trees all around the yard? the porches all around the house? the fine neighbors? Those are far more important than the stuff. Thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, this did not publish under my wordpress so I am signing in reply: ~ linda @ Being Woven
DeleteThank you, Linda! I need God's help to refocus, so I'm just sharing what He's done for me!
DeleteI am very guilty of allowing my mind to be on "the to do lists" rather than the blessings of my surroundings. Thank you for your transparency. i just love you :)
ReplyDeleteI love you back, my friend, and miss you!
DeleteI tend to forget benefits as well. I don't know why, because we are so very blessed! Thank you for a beautiful reminder to stay focused on God and his goodness!
ReplyDeleteKym, I'm thankful for this reminder from God's Word, too!
