The University of Washington's Huskies Stadium is located on the west side of Lake Washington in Seattle. My husband is a season ticket holder and on occasion, especially if the weather is lovely, I'll ride along with him and spend some time on the beautiful east side of Lake Washington.
This past Saturday was one of those lovely autumn days. I was too lazy to pack along my Nikon, but am pleased with these photos, all taken with my iPhone 7.
I have no idea what this tropical looking tree is. I tried looking up "tree with yellow, orange and red round balls" to no avail. If you know, please comment!
This last blue hour photo shows the light beams from the streetlight shining through the leaves of the tree.
The Pacific Northwest is well known for it's rainy weather, but many people don't realize how often beautifully sunny and mild days will be tucked into the middle of a rainy spell. Native Pacific Northwesterners don't let the rainy days stop us, but we thoroughly enjoy the sun breaks when they come.
still following,
These are lovely shots of Puget Sound. I live in Washington too and have been amazed by this year's exploding colors.

Carol, I'm a Vancouver girl, since last fall. I'm a native Portland area girl originally.
DeleteI'm homesick!
ReplyDeleteAfter living in Seattle for 64 years, we moved away from the Seattle area, about a year ago.
I desperately miss the water from above (rain) and all the lakes & rivers.
What joy to see Home again!
Thank you!
I live in Vancouver, but love it up there! I can see why you miss it!
DeleteGorgeous fall colors!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it there!
DeleteMouth watering fruits. Beautiful trees...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteI love your perspective in each of these colorful photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/10/along-way.html
Thanks so much, Sue!
DeleteYour photos are amazing--even with your iPhone 7. :) I've been to Seattle once--loved it! It was the first day the sun had come out for weeks. Everyone was outside, smiling.
ReplyDeleteWe've had two gorgeous days in a row this week as well. We have lots of rain, but we get more lovely ones mixed in than people realize.
DeleteVery nice shots! I especially like the first one. The iphone 7 did a great job! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the phone camera did pretty well, too!
DeleteI enjoyed this post for WednesdayAroundTheWorld... wonderful captures of autumn.
ReplyDeleteThe fruit maybe could be a so called Litschi.

I guess it is called a Strawberry Tree. It's a new discovery to me!
DeleteI miss that place so much!
ReplyDeleteKelleyn, I feel privileged to live close enough to drive to Lake Washington often!
DeleteIt was a gorgeous day. I can see Mt. Rainier right now, although it's top is pretty much faded in to the clouds. Love living here!!
ReplyDeleteMy sister has a great view of Mt. Rainier from her back yard! It's so lovely and majestic!
DeleteLovely. Enjoyed seeing your sharings. :)
ReplyDeletePeabea@Peabea Scribbles visiting from LTTL and Texture Twist crimson theme
Thank you!
DeleteYour tree is a mystery to me. The seed balls are similar to the American Sycamore, but the leaves are different. Beautiful fall images, Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteA strawberry tree. Who knew?!
DeleteHmmmm that tree reminds me of Hedgeapple from the Hedge tree. I wonder if it is in the same family.
ReplyDeleteYou know I was totally stumped so I had to do some research and I think I found it. A Strawberry Tree. Who knew there was such a thing.

That seems to be the consensus. I'd never seen any tree like it before!
DeleteThese are some of the most beautiful fall pictures I've seen this year. How blessed you are to be in Washington. I used to travel there for work and it was my favorite place in the states to visit...rain or shine.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy! I'm a native Oregonian, now living across the Columbia River in Washington. Oregon and Washington are both stunningly beautiful with lots of diversity of climate and looks depending on what part of the state you are in, but so very beautiful wherever you go in the Pacific Northwest!
DeleteBeautiful images! Looks a bit chilly.
ReplyDeleteJust a sweater was all that was needed! Not bad for late October!
