I don't think I'm alone in too often living my life looking forward to some future day instead of choosing to rejoice in today. I look forward to our weekly day off. I look forward to an upcoming family celebration. I look forward to celebrating the next holiday. I look forward to vacation. Recently I felt the Holy Spirit whisper into my heart about the fact that God made THIS day. Today, Monday, April tenth was made by God. Because of that fact alone, I can rejoice and be glad in it.

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.

ReplyDeleteI love your gratitude journal (thanks for sharing)... and that's one of my favorite hymns (we played it at our wedding)!
