Viburnum, or "snowball bush", as my husband calls it, is one of my favorite spring blooms.
We had a huge viburnum growing in our backyard in Portland,
and I'd love to plant one here at our home in Vancouver.
I foraged one wee branch for this photoshoot from a viburnum
that was hanging over into the street near our local park.
I wish I could have gathered an armful!
I set up this simple still life using an old tarnished silver tray, an antique bottle from Scotland,
and a couple of tattered antique books.
Each photo was edited using Kim Klassen's waterfront texture, one of my favorites.
Hopefully, next week my photos will feature our newest grandson!
He's due today and my daughter is being admitted to the hospital in the wee hours tomorrow.
Prayers appreciated for a safe delivery and perfectly healthy baby boy!
still following,

They are a large bush with these snowball like bunches of blooms. So very lovely!
DeleteThey are beautiful. I agree about wishing I could just help myself to all the beautiful blooms I see in public places.(or even my neighbors' yards...)
ReplyDeleteIt's tempting, isn't it!
DeleteGood morning, Elizabeth, Just last night, we had a woman's potluck at our church themed "In the Garden." The talk was about John 15 (being connected to The Vine) but another woman also talked about literal garden things--like rooting plants from cuttings. So when I read your post this morning, I looked up viburnums, and there's lots of info out there on them. I wanted to encourage you to give it a try--although I realize you may be a bit busy as you welcome your new little grandson into your family. :-) (And it might be a good way to connect with a neighbor, if you knock on the door and get permission to cut off a bit of their plant. So many gardeners I know are delighted to share and chat with others who love the things they love.) Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the idea!
DeleteSuch beautiful flowers and a lovely vignette Elizabeth. And I hope by now you have become a grandmother. Wishing you and your family the best.
