This summer was very dry in the Pacific Northwest. We've had many very devastating wildfires, resulting in tens of thousands of acres of devastation and smoke, ash and very poor air quality all over the area. Yesterday afternoon the rain began. It's rained off and on much of the day today and we should have rainy weather for much of the week. Sure, us Pacific Northwesterners get more than our fair share of rain most of the time, but the last two days everyone I've talked to has mentioned how thankful they are for the rain. I am, too!

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.
