Hunger and thirst for God is the homing device He places in our heart,
drawing us back to the place of our origin,
back to His great heart,
back to His love.
We may try to silence the desperation within with
-people
-possessions
-position
and while these things may momentarily
muzzle the hunger pains
they never truly satisfy.

Beautiful post, Elizabeth. He is both the Source and the Satisfaction of my hunger. May I always come to Him to be filled. Have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Joanne!
DeleteSuch a true scripture. We thirst for all knowledge of our Father in Heaven.

Isn't it amazing that even our desire for God is fueled by God?!
DeleteI love when I see verses that I know as songs. I want to sing out loud, but the house is quiet. “Oh God, You are my God...”
ReplyDeleteYes! Me, too!
DeleteThe first sentence is profound Elizabeth. Moves my soul. Wanting to linger at the Table where true satisfaction comes from.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for popping by, my friend!
DeleteLove this. I'm singing it and reading it at the same time.
