Weekly Gratitude Post

When our girls were growing up, I measured the passing of time in Christmases and summers. The day after Christmas and the day before school began I always felt a bit melancholy. One more Christmas of their childhood gone. One more summer gone. Now it's a bit the same, but with the grandkids. Our oldest granddaughter will be eighteen in the new year! Zoom!-and her last Christmas as a "kid" is gone.

I've always wondered how people who don't have the assurance of eternal life cope with the passage of time. It's almost painful how swiftly life flies by. But, this life is not all there is. Thank God for that! And thank Him for all of His blessings in this life-most of all that He is with us through every moment of every day!

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks,
piling up gratitude day by day in my journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

  3. Love shines through the photos of your children and grandchildren together to celebrate Christmas. Ours was a bit different - daughter and her family filled our home on Christmas Eve and we travelled a bit to join our son and his family on Christmas Day. It's hard to believe that your oldest granddaughter is soon leaving the 'kid' stage.
